One Sell Swoop: Stephens Media Group owner David Stephens is purchasing 37 radio stations plus additional translators from Mapleton Communications for an undisclosed price, including Country KDRK/Spokane, WA; KAKT/Medford, OR; KUBB/Merced, CA; KPIG/Monterey, CA; KALF/Redding, CA; KMYY/Monroe, LA; and KLAA & Classic Country KBKK/Alexandria, LA. The parties have agreed to an immediate LMA for all properties. "These seven markets fit nicely within our company ... this acquisition doubles our size," says Stephens. Mapleton previously filed to sell two Chico, CA stations and its Paradise, CA station to Bustos Media Holdings. The company currently maintains ownership of one station in San Francisco, which is operated by Pacific Media International under an LMA.
