Weaver Among BMG Departures: BMG/Nashville EVP Kos Weaver has exited after six years; three other staffers have also departed, though inquries about specifics were not returned by press time. Weaver joined in 2013 (CAT 3/8/13) to oversee BMG Publishing and Records while leading the group that developed artist-writers Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce and Runaway June, and a writer roster that included Brett Beavers, Buddy Miller, Shy Carter, Hillary Lindsey, Kings of Leon and the late Busbee. Weaver was also instrumental in the company's 2017 acquisition of BBR Music Group. Prior to BMG, Weaver's stops included Disney Music Publishing and Warner Chappell. Reach him here.
A spokesperson for BMG tells Country Aircheck there are no plans to fill the position. The move ostensibly leaves BBRMG EVP Jon Loba overseeing joint Nashville operations, as Loba and Weaver were named co-heads with the departure of Zach Katz late last year (Breaking News 12/5/18).
