Fitz Takes CT40 Reins: Hubbard KNUC/Seattle morning host and syndicated personality Fitz has been named permanent host of Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40. The show has been guest hosted by artists (CAT 10/23) since shortly before Kingsley's passing in October (Chronicle 10/17). A multi-year partnership between Hubbard and Nan Kingsley's KCCS Productions, the show launches as Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 with Fitz on more than 300 stations Jan. 4-5. The 85 stations carrying The Hit List with Fitz will begin transitioning to CT40 in January.
Skyview Networks is leading network sales and distribution. CT40 production team members including Producer Ken Halford, Chief Engineer Roger Ramsey, GM & Affiliate Sales Lead Shawn Studer, Assoc. Producer & Archivist Barbara Lyon and writer/interviewer Deborah Evans Price remain. The new show will incorporate audio from the Kingsley Archives.
"Bob Kingsley and I built a family business working alongside one another for more than 30 years," says KCCS President/CEO Nan Kingsley. "After spending time with [Hubbard Radio CEO] Ginny Morris and her stellar team ... it was very evident to me that Hubbard is the perfect partner."
"I am honored to be taking the reins from the man who instilled in me a lifelong love of country music and the love of the countdown," adds Fitz. "This moment is surreal and I do not take the responsibility lightly."
