Retired And True:
Summit/Wichita Dir./Production Scott Piper retired today (4/3) after 37 years with the cluster, which includes Country KFDI & KFTI-AM. "Our good friend Scott Piper was robbed of a proper retirement party by the coronavirus," says OM Justin Case. "Today, we practiced a social distancing goodbye. Thirty-seven years is quite a ride, and all of us wish Scott the best." Piper started as an overnight jock in 1983 and segued to middays for KFDI-AM in 1985. He's held his most recent post since 2000. He has also played in the KFDI house band over the years and is an original member of the Lawrence, KS-based band Tree Frog, which served as the house band for the 1976 Republican National Convention in Kansas City. Check out video of Piper leading a tour of the KFDI Radio Ranch in the mid-'90s here.
