Guthrie Leaves Cox:
Cox Pres./CEO Kim Guthrie is leaving after a year in the role, four as President and 22 with the company. Exec. Chairman Steve Pruett will serve as Interim CEO until a permanent successor is appointed. “On behalf of the board of directors, we would like to thank Kim for her decades of service to Cox Media Group and her leadership during the company’s transition to new ownership,” says Pruett. “She has been instrumental in positioning CMG for future success as an industry-leading media company.” Guthrie joined Cox/New York in 1998 as VP/GM, rose through the ranks to President in 2016 (CAT 9/26/16) and added CEO last year (CAT 8/2/19) upon the completion of regulatory review processes and the close of the transaction between Cox Media Group and Apollo. Prior to joining Cox, she spent time with Hubbard, Heritage Media and All Pro Broadcasting.
