Chronicle: Longtime Miami-based Sonny In The Morning personality Sonny Fox (born James Warren Rowley), who helped wake up Country WKIS listeners in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, died August 14. He was 73. Fox’s career included time with CHUM/Toronto, KHJ/Los Angeles and WYSP/Philadelphia before landing in Miami. Fox eventually segued to SiriusXM hosting the Raw Dog Comedy channel and serving as the voice of SXM’s Classic Vinyl channel. “I had the honor of working with Sonny at WKIS in the early ‘00s,” shares WKXC/Augusta PD Chris O’Kelley via Facebook. “A true radio legend, but nothing stood in the way of Sonny being home by 11am every day to watch The Price Is Right.” Read local coverage of Fox’s career and passing here. Songwriter/producer Edward “Felix” McTeigue passed away July 24 after complications from surgery. He was 48. McTeigue’s work included Florida Georgia Line’s “Anything Goes” and Lori McKenna’s “Wreck You.” A GoFundMe has been set up to benefit McTeigue’s wife and children; donate here.
