Apple Launches Radio: The long rumored Apple radio expansion is official, including new channels Apple Music Country and Apple Music Hits. Beats 1 has been renamed Apple Music 1. The Country station is positioned to offer "a mix of the best music of today while introducing fans to the stars of tomorrow and reminding them of the legendary artists and tracks that have shaped and defined country."

The station's air personalities include Kelleigh Bannen, Ty Bentli, Bree, Alecia Davis, Ward Guenther, Nada and Tiera. Weekly shows will be hosted by Ashley Eicher and Kelly McCartney. Exclusive programming is available from artists including Jimmie Allen, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Breland, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Morgan Evans, Florida Georgia Line, Pat Green, Willie Jones, Chrissy Metz, Midland, Rissi Palmer, The Shires, Carrie Underwood and Morgan Wallen, as well as Dave Cobb, Jesse Frasure, Luke Laird and Hunter Kelly.

No official word from Apple, but radio vet and former CAA agent (CAT 2/28) Michael Bryan heads Apple Music Country and former Austin City Limits Radio PD Emily Parker is Exec. Producer. Former KAJA/San Antonio APD/MD Bree Wagner is Coord./Music. As Country Aircheck tipped last month (CAT 7/9), former Emmis/New York SVP/MM Charlie Morgan joined Apple to helm a new talent development division. More details as they become available.
