Bowers Heads Records/Nashville:
The Nashville division of Barry Weiss' Records will open this month with manager/songwriter/producer and Wide Open Music co-founder Ash Bowers as President. Joining as Co-Heads/Promotion are former In2une VP Jamice Jennings and former Pearl VP Andy Elliott. A joint venture with Sony/New York, Records is home to Matt Stell – whose singles are worked in partnership with Arista/Nashville – and Chris Bandi, whose single "Man Enough Now" will be the first worked by the new Records/Nashville team. The roster also includes Jennifer Smestad, Lathan Warlick, Chase Martin and Dylan Brady. Good Company Entertainment's Keith Gale will be a consultant to the label.
Formerly a Stoney Creek recording artist, Bowers manages Jimmie Allen and Stell. "We’re already stocked with talented artists, a killer promotion team and a legendary record guy at the helm with Barry Weiss; how great is that?” Bowers says. Adds Weiss, "Ash has experienced success in all aspects of the music business as an artist, producer, manager and songwriter. And while the role of label president may seem like a new title for him, there’s no one more fit to carry forth our fierce independent spirit."
