Commuter Program: In a just-completed national consumer study of 1,000 respondents conducted October 1-5, Nielsen reports 61% of American workers are now commuting to their workplace, up from 39% in May and marking a 56% increase in those working outside the home. As of October, 19% of those employed are working from home, down from 42% in May. Additionally, time spent in the car has grown 81% – from 36 minutes per day in May to 65 minutes per day in October – showing AM/FM radio’s commuter audience recovering.
