Tack-tics: Former Bonneville KNCI/Sacramento PD/midday personality Joey Tack has been named Emmis WLHK/Indianapolis APD/morning host. In mornings, he succeeds Caleb James, who exited in July after nearly two years (CAT 7/29); the APD role is newly created. Tack joins incumbent morning co-host Mindy Winkler on-air Sept. 7 for Joey And Mindy. The move reunites Tack with WLHK PD Ryan Wild, with whom he previously worked at iHeartMedia/Quad Cities, IA-IL. “[Joey’s] drive, vision and passion are off the charts; add that to being an amazing human being, and you’ve got the total package,” Wild tells Country Aircheck. Adds Tack, “I’m thrilled to get back to my creative, on-air roots while continuing to push the boundaries of innovation in Country radio.” Tack elected not to renew his contract and stepped down at KNCI last month (CAT 3/26) after two years, and his prior experience includes more than 14 years with Summit Rhythmic WKHT/Knoxville in various on-air and programming capacities. Tack is in the building now and can be reached here.
