BFA's Thompson To Retire: Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFA) President Jim Thompson will retire at the end of 2022 but will consult the organization. Broadcast veteran Tim McCarthy joins as Co-President effective Nov. 1 through the end of Thompson's term. He was most recently SVP/GM of ESPN/Walt Disney's radio properties in New York and Los Angeles. “I have known Tim for almost 20 years; he is an outstanding leader, and I look forward to working with him and Jim for a seamless transition," says Chairman Scott Herman. “Jim has done a phenomenal job getting the word out about our mission and increasing the number of broadcasters we help."
