Know When To Gold 'Em:
The National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) Gold & Platinum Program named its top country songs and songwriters for the past year (July 2020 to June 2021). The Platinum Anthem award, based on total streams and sales, went to "Be Like That" by Kane Brown f/Swae Lee & Khalid and written by Brown, Lee, Khalid, Mike Will Made-It, Eskeerdo and Charlie Handsome. The Top Male Artist Songwriter was Chris Stapleton with 16 certifications. Gabby Barrett's five certifications won her the same honor in the female category. Hillary Lindsey won Top Non-Performing Female Songwriter with 14 gold and platinum certifications, while Ashley Gorley won in the male category with 24 certifications. The Top Song released in a prior year was "Wagon Wheel," performed by Darius Rucker and written by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor, which is now certified 9x platinum. More here.
