Easler, Fisher To Records: Arista VP/Promotion Josh Easler and publishing/label vet Joe Fisher are joining Records/Nashville as EVP/Promotion & Commercial Strategy and EVP, respectively. Additionally, Records/Arista's Matt Stell will now be a Records/Nashville artist exclusively. Easler will oversee promotion, DSP strategy and other commercial platforms; Fisher's purview will be signing and developing talent.
A 15-year veteran of Sony/Nashville, Easler spent seven years at WKLB/Boston before joining RCA in 2006. He was named to his most recent post in 2016. Reach Easler here. No word on plans for the open position at Arista. Fisher rose to VP/A&R at UMG/Nashville, where he spent most of his career. Most recently he has been working with Justin Timberlake's Villa 40 label and founded Boom Music Publishing with Keith Urban and Ross Copperman in 2017.
"We are so excited to be leveling up and raising the game with our efforts in Nashville and country music," says Records Co-Founder & Partner Barry Weiss, to whom Easler and Fisher will report. "They’re both established superstars in their respective fields in country music with great pedigree and substantial track records."
"Barry has assembled one of the most dynamic teams in the business and an incredible roster of new talent," says Easler. Fisher adds, "He’s a true music man and one of the industry’s most visionary executives. The only thing more impressive than his track record is his passion for music."
