Say Uncle:
Saga/Harrisonburg, VA OM & Classic Country WSIG PD/afternoon personality Paul “Uncle Pauly” McDaniel is segueing to the company’s six-station Charlottesville, VA cluster, which includes Country WCVL. Top 40 WQPO PD/MD/morning host Brandy Lindsey will take over as OM for the six-station Harrisonburg cluster with oversight of WSIG. She has been with the station since 2011 and can be reached here. In Charlottesville, McDaniel succeeds Les Sinclair, who exited in September after more than 25 years.
The move is a return to the market for McDaniel, who previously served as PD/afternoon host at crosstown Monticello Country WCYK (CAT 6/12/19). “I’ve commuted to Harrisonburg from Charlottesville for the last two-and-a-half years and love the people, but to get 10 hours of my life back every week and work in my hometown makes a difficult decision a little easier,” McDaniel tells Country Aircheck. He will stay on with WSIG to handle programming needs and lead the search for his successor as PD; interested parties can send résumés and airchecks to McDaniel here.
