Holiday Road:
CBS Radio's KILT-FM/Houston afternoon host Rowdy Yates is leaving after 16 years at the station and relocating to Tulsa, where his wife was recently transferred. Yates tells Country Aircheck he arrived in Houston to work for then-Country sister KIKK on Halloween 1994, then segued to KILT-FM on St. Patrick's Day. "Keeping with that holiday tradition," he will show up for his last shift Good Friday (4/22). In addition to holding down afternoons, Yates recently served as KILT-FM's interim MD after Greg Frey's October departure and through the arrival of Brooke Meris (CAT 3/28). Yates will continue to host his Westwood One-syndicated Country Gold show. At KILT-FM, Steve Rixx takes afternoons starting April 25. Rixx worked middays there before leaving in 2009, but recently returned for weekends. The rest of the station's lineup is unchanged. Reach Yates here.
