Hargis To Leave BMLGR: BMLG Records SVP/Promotion & Marketing Matthew Hargis is leaving the industry after 23 years and 11 years with the imprint. “Matthew Hargis has decided to leave the business to spend more time with his family,” says Pres./CEO Jimmy Harnen in an internal memo obtained by Country Aircheck. “I first met Matthew when we worked together at DreamWorks Records in 1999. In the mid 2000s, I brought Matthew on board to work with me at Capitol Records. When it was time to find the leader for our promotion team at BMLGR, there was only one choice for that position, and that choice was Matthew.” Hargis joined then-Republic Nashville in 2011 (CAT 1/25/11) and was elevated to his most recent post in 2020 (CAT 11/2/20). The search is on for his successor, and he will stay on through the transition. Reach Hargis here.
