KPLX's Moote To Depart:
Cumulus KPLX/Dallas morning host Brian Moote is leaving after more than two years to return to Atlanta for family reasons; incumbent co-host Tara Ward remains. PD Mike Preston tells Country Aircheck Moote will stay with the show temporarily while a search for his successor is launched. Preston is looking for someone who “loves country music, loves Texas and is great with social media. Candidates don’t necessarily have to be in Country radio right now, but they need to be into it.” Preston also notes the move is not associated with or related to the station’s shift to gold-based music (CAT 3/17). Moote and Ward were teamed in 2020 (CAT 3/3/20) following Moote’s time with Top 40 KAMP/Los Angeles, nationally syndicated The Bert Show, Talk KIRO/Seattle and work as a stand-up comedian. He can still be reached here. See a complete job description and apply for Wake Up With The Wolf mornings here; reach Preston here.
