Thomas To Columbia; Allen Departs: Sony/Nashville VP/National Promotion Lauren Thomas ("LT") has been named VP/Promotion for Columbia as SVP/Promotion Shane Allen prepares to depart at the end of May. "When Shane informed me that he wanted to pursue another chapter in his professional career, LT was the obvious first choice candidate," says EVP/Promotion & Artist Development Steve Hodges, to whom she reports. "There could not be a more qualified and passionate person for this job than her! For the past several years, I've watched LT grow into one of the most successful and well-liked professionals I have ever worked with. I am elated that she will be the future leader of the Columbia Nashville Promotion & Artist Development team." Thomas rose to her most recent position two years ago (Breaking News 7/29/2020) from Dir./National Promotion (CAT 2/24/16); she joined the company in 2009 as Coord. for Arista. Allen has been with the label six years (Breaking News 5/27/16), joining from Capitol/Nashville. He previously served as VP/Promotion for UMG/Nashville and had a short stint at Red Light in 2009.
