iHeart's Spicer To Depart:
iHeartMedia WFUS/Tampa & WQIK/Jacksonville PD Cindy Spicer will depart Sept. 23 after more than 22 years with the company and 32 in radio. She joined WQIK in 2012 (CAT 4/23/12) before shifting to WFUS in 2018 (CAT 1/29/18). Spicer re-added ’QIK duties early last year (CAT 1/5/21) and also handles afternoons for ’QIK and middays for AC sister WMTX/Tampa. Tampa SVPP Tommy Chuck tells Country Aircheck, “Cindy will be with us through most of September before jetting off to the rainforest, and our plans moving forward are still being determined.” Jacksonville Area Pres. Paul Rogers says, "We are currently searching for [Cindy's] replacement as the next great PD of one of the country's greatest Country radio stations! This is a phenomenal opportunity for the right candidate." Spicer joined then-Clear Channel in June 2000 with stops at KNIX/Phoenix and KUSS/San Diego. She previously spent time at then-Jacor/San Diego and Rusk/Houston. Spicer is planning a six-to-12-month vacation in Costa Rica and can be reached here until her departure.
