Benefit News: Hubbard WIRK/West Palm Beach morning duo Tim Leary and Chelsea Taylor held their annual, three-day Friends Feeding Friends last week raising $11,140 in cash donations equaling more than 55,700 meals for Palm Beach Harvest Food Bank. The pair also raised an additional 4,604 pounds of food, which were stored onsite in refrigerated trucks. “Other food banks in need were pulling up with their vehicles, and they started distributing the food right there,” Leary tells Country Aircheck. “And our listeners kept coming with donations.” Local business owner Patty Marsh-Price of Morgan’s Country Kitchen provided 2,500 meals because listeners helped her when she needed to keep the restaurant open during the pandemic (CAT 3/26/20); hear that moment here.

Big Loud’s Morgan Wallen, in partnership with Greater Good Music, donated turkeys and full Thanksgiving meal boxes to 2,000 families in need across Tennessee and Kentucky last weekend. Food deliveries were held in Waverly, TN where historic flooding gutted the town last year; in Wallen’s hometown of Sneedville, TN; and in Pike County, KY where flooding impacted the community earlier this year. Greater Good Music also worked with Wallen and his Morgan Wallen Foundation to help communities in need on several stops during his 2022 Dangerous Tour by identifying food insecure communities and organizing food distributions feeding more than 500,000 people.
