Shake-Up In A Small Town: As reported via Breaking News, UMG/Nashville VP/National Promotion David Friedman has been named MCA VP/Promotion and MCA Dir./Northeast Promotion Miranda McDonald has risen to his previous position. Friedman succeeds Katie Dean, who is leaving for a yet-to-be-announced opportunity. "[David] will be an incredible asset to MCA’s iconic roster, and I have every bit of confidence that he will continue the building success story at MCA Nashville," says UMGN EVP/Promotion Royce Risser. "[Miranda's] intuitive nature and deep relationships are some of the best I’ve ever seen in radio promotion. She is also a true ‘creative’ and now I will have the ability to utilize her skills for all four of our labels." Adds McDonald, "MCA has been my beloved chosen family for over a decade now. So, to be given the opportunity to not only continue working alongside MCA, but also with my extended family at each of the imprints, their incredible artists, and an entirely new group of partners in radio, is an honor." Friedman has served as VP/National Promotion for the past seven years. He joined the label group in 2015 from Sony/Nashville (CAT 8/20/15); reach him here. Prior to joining MCA in 2012, McDonald spent time at Valory and CMT Radio. She rose to her most recent position last year (CAT 3/24/22); reach her here.
