McVay Joins Cumulus Media: McVay Media & McVay Syndication President Mike McVay has been named Sr. VP/Programming for Cumulus Media. McVay leaves his company after 28 years, starts Sept. 1 and will be based in Cumulus' Atlanta headquarters.

Cumulus COO John Dickey said of McVay's arrival, "Mike is one of our industry’s most talented programmers. His background as a station owner, content creator and brand builder will prove very valuable as Cumulus continues to grow."

Cumulus SVP/Programming Jan Jeffries added, "It’s full circle for Mike and me. We worked together as consultants prior to my joining Cumulus. I’m looking forward to working with Mike again as our company enters a new and exciting era."

McVay commented, "The opportunity to work with what is going to be the largest pure play radio company in the world was too great to pass up  I'm excited to join the team at Cumulus and participate in their tremendous growth.  McVay Media (soon to become McVay/Cook & Associates) is well positioned to move on as I transition into Cumulus."

It was recently announced that West Virginia Radio Dir./Programming & Brand Management Charlie Cook had been named President of the newly-formed McVay/Cook & Associates.

Cumulus currently owns 52 Country stations and will aquire 36 more when its deal to buy Citadel is completed in the next few months.
