Chronicle: Condolences to family and friends of longtime WBAP-AM/Dallas personality Dick Siegal, who passed away Jan. 3 following a heart attack. He was 73. Siegal was an accomplished helicopter pilot who learned to fly before getting his drivers license. He started as a traffic reporter for KLIF, but was best known for his long partnership with Hal Jay on WBAP; Hal And Dick handled both morning and afternoon drive with Jay in the studio and Siegal airborn. Siegal attracted national attention in 1989 after his daring aerial rescue of a motorist trapped by a flooded river. He left Dallas radio in 2003 due to heart problems. Most recently he was hosting mornings on Oldies KLDE/El Dorado, TX. Services are pending.
