Schuler Named Capitol VP/Promotion: Former Arista VP/Promotion Chris Schuler has been named Capitol VP/Promotion, effective Jan. 9. He fills the vacancy created by Bobby Young's retirement (CAT 12/9/22). “Finding the perfect person to lead Capitol/Nashville’s promo department has always been a challenging and weighty decision,” says UMGN EVP/Promotion Royce Risser. “Chris Schuler is the absolute perfect fit, and I cannot express how happy we are to have him back home at UMG." Adds Schuler, “There is nothing in the business like the Capitol roster." Schuler left Arista in November (CAT 11/14/22). It is a return to the company he first joined in 2013 from BMI, later shifting to Mercury Coord./Promotion then to Mgr./Radio Marketing & Syndication before being named to his most recent post – UMGN VP/Promotion & Radio Marketing – in 2019 (CAT 4/17/19).
