UMGN's Mabe Named Chair/CEO: UMG/Nashville Pres. Cindy Mabe has been named Chair/CEO effective April 1. She succeeds Mike Dungan, who announced his impending March retirement yesterday (Breaking News 1/9). “To now be in a position, as Mike’s successor, to advance the musical and cultural impact of UMGN into the future is truly a humbling honor,” says Mabe. “Country music has been my life’s passion. It’s my childhood and my future. It’s the heartbeat that speaks truth to all walks of life in the best and worst of times. It’s truly a gift to get to honor, protect and build the next era of country music history with UMGN.” Mabe began her career at RCA/Nashville as Coord./Promotions in 1994 before segueing to Arista/Nashville as Sr. Dir./Marketing & Artist Development in 1999 where she was part of Dungan’s team. She rejoined Dungan at Capitol/Nashville in 2007 (CAT 3/6/07) and served as SVP/Marketing from 2009-2012. Mabe made the move to UMGN during the merger (CAT 10/26/12) and was named Pres. in 2014 (Breaking News 6/12/14). Reach Mabe here.
