WDRQ's Broadway Resigns: Cumulus WDRQ/Detroit afternoon personality Bill “Broadway” Bertschinger has resigned. “In my [three] years at ‘DRQ, we grew the cume to the highest it’s been in its [seven] years as a Country station,” says Bertschinger in a post announcing his departure. “We also launched a local morning show that was an instant success as it shot up into the top five and remained there for six months. We received an ACM nomination and also won two MAB Awards.” Bertshinger joined WDRQ in 2019 (CAT 5/7/19) following time with WDSY/Pittsburgh, WWYZ/Hartford, WKIS/Miami and WBCT/Grand Rapids, MI. He tells Country Aircheck he plans “to keep voice tracking for Cumulus/Grand Rapids and also do some freelance podcast and audio editing.” Reach Bertschinger here. No word on plans for afternoons at ‘DRQ.
