Chronicle: Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Trustee Emeritus and wife of CMHoF member and former Gaylord Pres./CEO E.W. "Bud" Wendell, Janice Wendell, passed away yesterday morning (1/13) after a short illness. "A brilliant marketer and museum loyalist and not one shy to express her opinion, Janice was a driving force who helped steer the museum to the prominent position it enjoys today," shared museum CEO Kyle Young. Wendell joined the museum Board in 1988 and was elected Trustee Emeritus in 2007. She began her professional career in 1965 with the Noble-Dury Advertising Agency and, in 1969, co-founded Eric Ericson and Associates, which she became the sole owner of in 1987 and retired from in 1992. Wendell joined the CMA Board in 1982 and served until 1996. Arrangements are pending.
Telemedia WGRX/Fredericksburg, VA on-air personality Mike Neville passed away last night (1/13) after suffering a massive heart attack last month (CAT 1/3). He was 64. “No matter how you knew Mike, you know he never met a stranger, loved to talk sports and played golf on Tuesdays,” shares WGRX GM Tom Cooper via a GoFundMe established for Neville’s family here. “Most of all, remember Mike as a Godly man, a family man and a proud grandpa.” Services are currently pending.
