Southern Comfort: Opry Entertainment Group (OEG) has acquired a majority interest in Charlotte-based live events, hospitality and production company Southern Entertainment. Southern Entertainment co-founders Bob Durkin and Rob Pedlow will continue to lead the business, with plans to will integrate OEG’s artist development programs like Opry NextStage into their country festivals. Those include: Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, SC; Barefoot Country Music Fest in Wildwood, NJ; Greenville Country Music Fest in Greenville, SC; and the new Field & Stream Outdoor Music Fest in Winnsboro, SC.
