East Bound And Up: JVC Broadcasting has purchased Classic Rock WRCN & WKJI/Nassau-Suffolk for $3 million and subsequently flipped WKJI to Country WJVC. The station began stunting a 10,000-song sign-on today (1/18) and will go by the moniker "My Country 96.1." Airshifts have been filled by PD/morning host Phathead, morning co-host Cande Roth, middayer Jay Letterman and APD/MD afternooner Party Marty Mitchell. The flip gives the metro its first Country outlet since WMJC/Farmingdale, NY flipped to AC in 2004.
