Sonic Boomer: Former Cumulus/Indianapolis OM & Country WFMS PD Christopher “Boomer” Layfield has been named OM for VOX AM/FM/Digital's seven-station cluster in Burlington, VT and PD of Country WCPV, effective Feb. 14. He will also host afternoons on AC WEZF. He succeeds John Mullett, who departed for a position outside the industry last fall (CAT 11/5/24). Layfield left Cumulus after five years in late 2023 (CAT 11/13/23), and recently has been filling in mornings at WIL/St. Louis while Kasey Washausen is on maternity leave.
