Basden Named Sandbox President:
Former BMLG SVP/Communications Jake Basden has been named Sandbox Entertainment Group President. In his new role, Basden will focus on integrating marketing, imaging, perception and opportunities across platforms and development strategies for the company's roster including Kacey Musgraves, Kate Hudson, Faith Hill, Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Midland. He will also be hands-on with Sandbox’s various media and entertainment entities, including the Broadway musical Shucked.
"To be in the trenches, finding events, building layers of messaging to create a solid foundation – and making sure the key players can deliver when the moment matters, the opportunity Jason has provided allows me to both stretch and take topflight people, TV and motion picture platforms to new places," says Basden. He reports to Founder/CEO Jason Owen, who adds, "Jake is the sort of star executive who recognizes this is not a business of boxes and lanes. He is beloved by all and brings elevation to everything he touches. And let’s face it, he survived my dear friend Scott Borchetta for 12 years, so there is nothing he can’t do." Basden left BMLG earlier this month (CAT 1/17) after almost 12 years. Reach him here.
