Bits & Pieces: KSOP Anniversary
Bits & Pieces: Saturday marked the 70th anniversary of KSOP/Salt Lake City. KSOP-AM signed on Feb. 1, 1955 as "Utah's All Western Music Station," and was one of the first two dozen stations in the nation to feature an exclusively Country music format. KSOP-FM signed on in 1964 and the two stations simulcast until 2002, when the AM switched to Classic Country.

Veteran broadcaster Patrick Thomas came in first place in the annual Nashville Charity Poker Challenge, splitting his prize money with the Country Music Foundation and Greater Things Christian School. The event raised more than $14,000 was raised for Nashville area charities.
