CMT Music Awards Put On Pause
Pause & Effect: The CMT Music Awards will not be staged in 2025. Parent company Paramount is in the midst of a merger with Skydance Media. Paramount Pres./Music, Music Talent, Programming & Events Bruce Gillmer said in a brief internal memo, "We are pausing a few events for 2025 as we look to reimagine and optimize our events slate going forward ... Our world-class events remain a key component of Paramount’s music offering." Last April's CMT Music Awards, held in Austin for the second consecutive year, won the night for CBS, drawing 5.38 million viewers.
