Young Country:
Curtis WQDR/Raleigh morning co-host Marty Young will join Scripps' KVOO/Tulsa "Voo Crew" wake-up show alongside Sunny Leigh March 5. He succeeds Rowdy Yates, who left the station last fall (CAT 9/15). "I've been with the same company in Raleigh since 2002, so I knew if I was ever going to leave it would have to be something extremely special," Young says. "I knew from my first conversation with [PD] Brian Jennings that this is where I wanted to be." Young joined WQDR in 2002 and was doing nights in 2006 when he was promoted to the ACM-award winning morning show. Plans for the position in Raleigh are pending.
