CRS/AI's Legal Impact

A Little More Conversation: TV character Hank Hill singing “The Thunder Rolls” was one of the examples of AI-generated content played in CRS Friday's (2/21) “All Shook Up: AI’s Legal Impact On The Country Music Industry.” The panel’s name is a nod to “ELVIS, the Ensuring Likeness, Voice and Image Security Act.” That Tennesse bill, passed last year, is helping lay the groundwork for future regulations, including on a federal level. While some AI authorship questions have been answered, many are less clear-cut, with Emory University Professor of Law Matthew Sag cautioning the legal challenges will be "messy for a few years.”
