Chronicle:
Threee Media Managing Partner and former radio owner/operator George Francis passed away yesterday (2/21). He was 78. Francis formed AmCom General Corp. in 1985, with KRMD/Shreveport as its first purchase. He worked for Cumulus from 1997 to 2004, at which point he launched Threee Media to assist troubled radio clusters. "He was bigger than life around radio stations," says Cumulus VP/Country Charlie Cook, who consulted KRMD while with McVay Media. "He loved to spend money on promotions and they always paid off because he made them a win for the listeners and the radio stations."
