Chronicle: Jerry Strobel
Chronicle: Former WSM-AM/Nashville and Grand Ole Opry executive Martin "Jerry" Strobel died Feb. 24 at the age of 84. Strobel began as the Promotions Mgr. for WSM and the Opry in 1970, and spent the next 30 years there in a role that expanded to Opry House Mgr. He was also instrumental in the launch of Fan Fair (now CMA Fest). Visitation is March 6 from 4-6:30pm at The Buddeke House of Assumption Catholic Church (1226 7th Ave. N., Nashville). A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am March 7 at Christ the King Catholic Church (3001 Belmont Boulevard). Full obituary here.
