SirusXM Layoffs: In a memo to staffers this morning (3/6), SiriusXM CEO Jennifer Witz announced a reduction of 8% of the company's workforce, or 475 positions across all departments. "I want to acknowledge that this is going to be a challenging day, especially for those departing from the company, and I’d like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone for their contributions to SiriusXM," says Witz. "This was not an easy decision to make, nor one we took lightly. However, it is critical for us to take the right steps now to secure the long-term health and profitability of our business." The company reported a record revenue of $9.0 billion in 2022, though ad-supported listener hours decreased from 11.5b to 10.9b (CAT 2/2). No word yet on how this may have impacted the company's Nashville operations. Read full statement here.
