Ozark Mountain Dirtdevil:
Rox Radio KCYT/Fayetteville, AR "96.7 The Coyote" dumped its mainstream Country format today (3/15) at noon in favor of Red Dirt/Texas Country as "Red Dirt 96.7" with new call letters KXRD pending. KCYT was part of the Hog Radio cluster which was purchased by Rox at the end of last year, and the move puts the Red Dirt format on a full-power FM in addition to its previous home on Rox's KRRD-AM and K291CK translator. PD Mark "Haystack" Wells says the station will remain jockless through at least the end of month, which displaces the syndicated Wilhite & Wall morning show. KCYT ranked third among country stations in Fayetteville's fall book with a 2.5 share (CAT 1/20/21). Stream it here.
