Sony's Catino To Depart: No official word from Sony/Nashville, but an internal memo obtained by Country Aircheck confirms EVP/A&R Jim Catino is leaving the company at the end of June to pursue his own publishing and artist development venture. "This is something I have wanted to do for some time, but it’s always been hard to make that move because I love this place so much," Catino says in the memo directed to Sony staff. He joined Sony in 2001, rose to VP in 2008, SVP in 2017 and was promoted to his most recent role in 2018 (Breaking News). Prior to Sony, he worked at DreamWorks Publishing, Giant Records and MCA Publishing. Reach Catino here. No word on plans for the position at Sony.
