CRS Panel Focuses On Selling Your Own Show
Pitch Perfect: With radio layoffs now routine, Top 40 WKQI/Detroit morning host Mojo told air personalities at today's (3/18) “Pitch Please” session, “You need to be un-cuttable,” by bringing in revenue. “You can have the greatest ratings, but if you don’t have money attached, you’re in trouble." Two ways he achieves that are by putting out what he called a “sizzle” email to the station's sales team daily recapping his show (including audio clips) and previewing the next one. He also calls one client per day to say hello. The days of working only when talent fees are attached are “out the door,” he added.
