CRS: Nielsen Schmielsen Panel
Metrics System: Finding the story worth telling in the data was a theme during Thursday's "Nielsen Schmielsen" panel. "The holy grail is finding records that stream and research at radio," said Records Nashville's Josh Easler. Absent the rare cases when analytics line up perfectly, sorting data requires perspective. WME's Lindsey Dodge offers the company's agents ammo by keying on "growth analytics" over comparisons to other artists. Chartmetric's Chaz Jenkins says his company's robust data sets undermine conventional thinking: "The perception is that country is one of the fastest growing genres, [but] what we found is country actually performing underneath the [broader music] market." MTheory's Ed Rivadavia moderated.
