Layfield To WFMS:
iHeartMedia/Charlotte programmer Christopher "Boomer" Layfield has been named OM for the three-station Cumulus/Indianapolis cluster and PD for Country WFMS. He fills the void created by the departure of Stephen Giuttari earlier this year (CAT 1/11). Layfield's prior programming stops include St. Louis, Richmond, San Diego and Nashville. "We are so lucky to be able to add a programming star of Boomer’s caliber to help us continue to outgrow a very competitive Indianapolis radio market," says VP/MM Tom Stemlar. Adds Layfield, "For me, it’s a privilege and a thrill to join such a thriving operation in one of America's great cities and work alongside such passionate people to elevate these brands even higher."
