Summit Up: As reported via Breaking News, former iHeartMedia/Alabama Area SVP/Programming Tom Hanrahan has been named Summit VP/Country Programming & Talent Development and Country WZZK/Birmingham PD. The last person to hold the PD title at WZZK was Lance Tidwell, who left in 2021 (CAT 11/30/21). “I’m grateful for this amazing opportunity to get back to what I love doing most — living, breathing and programming Country radio," says Hanrahan. On the corporate side, his focus will be on strategy, goals and programming for all seven of Summit's Country stations. Hanrahan exited iHeartMedia last year (CAT 8/30/22) after more than 20 years with the Birmingham cluster and 25 with the company.
