Gene Elders passed away Wednesday (3/20) at the age of 73. Elders played fiddle and mandolin and had been a member of George Strait's Ace In The Hole band since 1984. In addition to his studio work, he also toured with Lyle Lovett and Joan Baez. "Me and the band won’t ever be the same without our brother Gene," posted Strait. No word on services.
