Chronicle: Casey
Chronicle: Veteran personality and programmer James "Jim Casey" Barnhart passed away March 13 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 69. Barnhart started in radio in Nacogdoches, TX under the name "JJ Jameson" and later worked in Lake Charles, LA and San Antonio, where he was PD of KKYX-AM from 1986-88. He joined Satellite Music Network as a host on its Country Coast-to-Coast channel in 1988 and worked there as it became ABC Radio and later part of Cumulus. Barnhart retired in 2014, by which time he was doing afternoons on the Real Country format. Donations in his name can be made to the American Cancer Society here; full obituary here.
