Chronicle: Ray Pillow
Ray-Pillow23.jpg Chronicle: Singer/publisher Ray Pillow passed away Sunday (3/26). He was 85. The Lynchburg, VA native moved to Nashville in 1963 after winning a talent contest. Pillow had six songs hit the Country top 40 during the 1960s and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1966. Pillow co-founded Sycamore Valley Music in 1981 with Larry McFadden, publishing most of Lee Greenwood's music, including "God Bless The USA." Pillow later worked in A&R at Capitol and was inducted into the Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994. No word on services.
