Bits & Pieces: Cumulus WIVK/Knoxville has received a complaint from the "Amphibian Society Of The Southeast" decrying the station's mascot Wivick The Frog as being a "stereotypical bug-eyed caricature." In a letter read by Joey Tack and Nancy Barger read on the air this morning (3/28), the organization further accuses the station of making "untold sums of money off the name, image and likeness of frogs," but with no evidence of donations to frog conservation efforts. The society has called for WIVK to end its 71 years of "injustice" toward frogs by March 29. No word on why the society, whose letterhead contained no return address, waited until just five days before the first of April to submit their grievances. "It’s so stupid you’d think we made it up ourselves," Tack tells Country Aircheck. Read the full complaint here.
