Monument Records Folds
Monument Records is in the process of closing this morning after more than eight years in operation. GM Katie McCartney, VP/Promotion Luke Jensen and VP/Media Casey Thomas are among those departing, though Jensen is expected to work through the transition supporting Tigirlily Gold's single "Forever From Here," which is moving to Sony Nashville. A Sony spokesperson confirms "there [have] been some changes taking place at Monument today where some aspects of the business will be overseen by Sony Music Nashville."
Monument was launched in 2017 by manager Jason Owen, songwriter/producer Shane McAnally and Sony Music (Breaking News 1/26/17). Owen is expected to continue to work with Sony through his Sandbox Entertainment, while McAnally will continue to work with artists independently. Artists on the label include Walker Hayes, Tigirlily Gold, Brandon Ratcliff, Alex Hall and Shelby Lynne. More later in Country Aircheck Today.
