Bits & Pieces: Tomorrow (4/5) will mark the 40th anniversary of the global radio simulcast of "We Are The World" by USA For Africa. An estimated 5,000 radio stations played the song at the same time (10:50am ET) to show support for the single's charity efforts, reaching an estimated 500 million listeners. The efforts were spearheaded by WROM/Rome, GA's Bob Wolf, WKCX/Rome, GA's Don Briscar and KZAN/Salt Lake City's Tracy Chapman and Jim Mickelson. The latter two are both still in Salt Lake City, handling nights and middays respectively at KSOP. Reach Chapman here and Mickelson here.
